Our Approach
Common Ground Campus creates custom experiences for your high school or college chapter. We focus on building bridges between students of all various positions and persuasions by bringing the together through engagement.

We can create a unique event tailored to your campus environment. All of our events focus on inclusion in the literal sense; getting anyone engaged who is willing to be part of the solution instead of part of the problem! The events are structured, moderated discussions on hot-button issues (followed by casual pizza party) that have proven success with standing ovation.
Our Common Ground Campus dialogue driven events, never suggests that personal convictions or the desire to create change are unimportant. The Founders themselves spent careers driving change and opportunity. The key insight is that you won’t persuade others unless they first feel heard. That starts with your willingness to listen and get to know them. This is selfish clarity opening the door to selfless conversation, observation, and expereinces. These initiatives are student-powered and designed to promote civility, practical leadership, and diverse friendships, as an action orientated approach to depolarization to create social opportunities with innovation, scalability, and a willingness to address community problems, and unlocking crossroads, instead of locking horns.
We revive the art of Socratic dialectics in conversations by designing events, especially with opposing perspectives/experiences, as a core way to combat and restore civility. Through structured, moderated conversations, such as Bridging the Divide events and Common Bridge forums, where students practice deep listening, thoughtful questioning, and critical thinking. Our Bridge to Tomorrow events tackle innovative ways to address social, cultural, environmental or community issues. And our Bridge Works mentorship training further equips participants skills for civil discourse, helping them explore ideas collaboratively, with innovation while seeking understanding across differences.
We also embody the spirit of Enantiodromia, as a philosophical principle, applied to extremism and opposition, held in constructive tension, to transform and integrate. By intentionally bringing students with opposing viewpoints together in shared experiences, service projects, and collaborative initiatives, we create space for tension to become connected. This approach moves participants beyond polarization toward shared humanity, common ground, and personal growth.
